a warm Welcome to all believers, questioners, and seekers!

Whether you have visited us in person or are just exploring that possibility by visiting this website first, we are glad that you have found us. As someone considering what life at Holy Trinity is like, you are likely to have many questions. Here are our answers to some Frequently Asked Questions:

What happens on Sunday morning?

Holy Trinity comes alive each Sunday morning in prayer, praise, and worship.

10:30am - Holy Eucharist with sermon led by our Priest, The Rev. Julie Fisher, and our Deacon, The Rev. David Guilfoyle. Organ or instrumental music are provided by our Organist, Dr. Phillip Roberts, and choral music by the Holy Trinity Choir (during the academic year.) This service is broadcast on the home page of this website and on our YouTube Channel. Click here for our YouTube Channel. Select the Live tab for livestreaming and the video tap to browse previous services.

11:30am - Coffee Hour - Join us for conversation and fellowship with free abundant snacks, sweets, and healthy food plus coffee, tea, and beverages after the service in the Undercroft or on the patio (weather permitting).

Are there other services that are available?

The Chapel of St. Bede is open for private prayer during church office hours and Sunday morning. We have other services there seasonally.

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism

The Sacrament of Holy Baptism is one of the two principal sacraments in the Episcopal Church. (The other is Holy Communion.) Any person of any age, from infancy on, is eligible for Holy Baptism as the rite of initiation into the Body of Christ that we call the Church.

If you would like to be baptized or to have your child baptized, please speak to the Priest, The Rev. Julie Fisher. She will meet with you to make the arrangements. Normally, the Sacrament of Holy Baptism takes place at a regular service in the church.

What to expect at worship

IMGP5303_edited-1.jpg

Our services are based on the Book of Common Prayer. Service bulletins are distributed to guide worshipers, especially new worshipers, through the service easily.

Hymns and service music are often taken from The Episcopal Hymnal and the hymnal supplement Wonder, Love, and Praise. But much of our congregational, choral and instrumental music comes from a variety of different musical traditions.

Weekly announcements in the bulletin let the congregation know what activities are coming up in the weeks ahead. Ushers and Greeters are available before and after the service to answer any questions and help you find out more about Holy Trinity. They will also guide you to stairs or the elevator so you can join others at Coffee Hour in the Undercroft.

We look forward to having you join us!

How do I receive Holy Communion?

All who seek a relationship with Christ are invited to come to the communion rail to receive the bread and the wine. The bread is placed in your palm. The wine is administered from a common cup known as a chalice; please assist the Eucharistic Minister by guiding the chalice to your lips. You need not take the wine if you want; the bread alone is 100% of communion. If you have children with you, help them as well. Children are allowed to receive communion too. If you would like them to just receive a blessing, simply help them cross their arms over their chest as a sign to the priest. Any person who has arms crossed over chest receives a blessing from the priest at the communion rail.

Are Children welcome at the worship service?

YES! Children of all ages are welcome to attend all services. We have activity bags for them that they can work on in the pews.

WHAT DO YOU HAVE FOR YOUTH?

We cosponsor an active youth group for middle and high school youth with Oxford Presbyterian Church. Click here to learn more about it.

What do you have for young adults and college students?

Young Adults and College Students are fully integrated into the life of the Parish. They serve as elected leaders on the governing Vestry, assist with leading worship, volunteer for outreach activities, and attend our Christian Education programs for Adults. In addition, during the school year, we have Young Adult Bible Study after the Sunday Worship Service.

What do you have for Christian education for adults?

During the school year we have the Adult Forum at 9:00am. Christian faith from a progressive point of view. Brought up conservative? Or new to religion? All your questions are welcome here. Surprising perspectives, stories you may never have heard before, great group discussions. Learner-driven, LGBTQIA+-affirming, respectful of non-Christian faiths. No homework, tests or required reading. Periodically we have special classes for people preparing for Confirmation, introductions to the Episcopal Church, and guest speakers on various topics at Coffee Hour.
